[First Read] Role playing Rules

The Official Corpria Rules

- Correct grammar and spelling are the golden rules. We all make mistakes, but do try your best.
- All RP posts must be at least eight sentences long or ten lines long.
- All RP is written in third person.
- Be mature; out-of-character drama will not be tolerated.
- Respect all members and obey staff.
- Character tags and boxes are nifty, but we don't use them here.
- OOC posts in RP threads must accompany an actual RP post. No individual OOC posts, it's considered spam.
- Do not make a thread unless given specific permission by one of the owners.
- Anime or otherwise-styled images may not be used for characters. We will only clear characters whose pictures are actual photos, and we will only clear characters whose models are not already taken by someone else in the cult.
- You are not allowed to use famous actors, singers, or celebrities as character models. However, this is a Gold VIP perk.

Some Role-playing Guidelines

- Explore your character. Don't always assume they'd react the way you would in a situation.
- Not only are proper grammar and spelling two main rules, but they're also your friends. People will be much more willing to RP with you if they can understand you!
- Looking for a role-play but don't know where to start? Post in the Role-play Request forum, or hang out with us in the Chat Thread! You're bound to find somebody with a bad-ass character you'd like to play with.

DO:
- Put spaces where they need to go.
- Capitalize correctly.
- Write out full sentences.
- Feel your character.
- Try your very best to be the best.
- Pay attention in English class from now on.

DON'T:
- Shift tense from present to past. Keep it uniform!
- Speak in first person.
- "typ lik dis".
- Ignore commas.
- Ignore periods.
- Ignore spaces.
- Use symbols to indicate action: ~, -, *, etc.
- Half-ass your post. Give it some meat!
- Claim not to be good at spelling or grammar. If your cult application was accepted, it was because you ARE capable of proper English.
- Come in with a rank attitude. We won't like you. :3
- Post in this thread and say "i understand". No you don't, because you didn't capitalize or use punctuation. We're not elitist, we just demand good role-play.


General Information
Here are some facts about the background of the forum:

- There are four city districts. Your character is not limited to any one of them. They include Hysteria Heights, where the city's government and famous faces live; Downtown, which is where most of the starving artists or other middle-class characters live; The Old Quarter, which is known for its haunted landmarks and macabre party scene; and Rustic, where most of Deviltry's natural settings can be found.

- Staff and VIP can have characters that may make famous or semi-famous characters, who are well-known throughout the forum/city and are modeled after real-life artists, musicians, actors, etc.

- Corpria takes place in Medieval/Fantasy/Steam punk - Nothing too modern.
